The Lanta Animal Welfare (Time for Lime is funding the shelter… kinda like the Humane's society in Dawson) is where there are 10 dogs that were abused and 7 cats. In total there are over 60 cats and dogs in the shelter. We walked 2 dogs called Pepsi and Lila. We walked them to a "river" (it was actually a creek because it's dry season in Thailand). We walked them because we wanted to help out the shelter.
My mom rented out a tuktuk from our hotel Nakara. (if you ever stay in this hotel, DON'T RENT OUT A TUKTUK!!!)
It was pretty fun but it was very steep and our tuktuk couldn't go down and up these extreme limits. We went to Lanta Old Island City. It looked old ...zing.
We went to a kinda crappy restaurant with Mikin and Joanne. Then we left.
I went to the Time for Lime cooking school. (in thai cooking, the time for lime is when the food is cooked, that's when you add the lime). It was amazing. I cooked homemade curry paste, tamarind sauce, BBQ chicken satay with peanut sauce and cucumber salad. Stir fried shrimp with roasted chili paste. Spicy and tangy prawn soup. Fried fish with tangy red curry sauce. In Thai cooking you have to have sweet sour and salty ingredients balance these ingredients and you will have a perfect meal. I used a killer knife and a wok and that's basically all. I also met the first kid I've talked to on this trip. His name was Johann (his name is pronounced Yohan).
Today is our last day on Koh Lanta. We are going tomorrow to Railay Beach.

wow; perhaps a travel writer and food writer in the works?
ReplyDeletewhat was your favorite thing to make?
Oli, you all look like you're having a great time. Enjoy your last bit of vacation, and when you get home you can come over and cook us some curry!
